April 23 is Divine Mercy Sunday. Jesus told St. Faustina, “The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion (on Divine Mercy Sunday) shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment.”
This Divine Mercy icon is from the Church of the Merciful Jesus in Surmanci (a subsidiary part of the parish of Medjugorje, a village in the valley of Neretva on the other side of the Apparition Hill). You can read about this on p. 2. We thank Anita Pehar for her pictures and article.

Medjugorje
St. Augustine once wrote that “We are an Easter people and Alleluia is our song.” During the days of Lent we don’t use the Alleluia. The word actually cannot be translated. It is an exclamation, “I’m so happy I don’t know what to say.”
However, we have the days of Lent and Passiontide first. St. Paul rejoiced with amazed joy when he was touched by Christ. But first he came through several days of blindness. Then when he was baptized he was able to see that the whole world looked different because of the light of Christ. When he shared the gospel with others, he called on them to rejoice. “Rejoice, rejoice, again I say rejoice.”
But St. Paul also knew that he was not simply to share with Christ the ministry of preaching, but also the sacrificial ministry of suffering. When he was thrown out of one city after another, when he was arrested and beaten and shipwrecked, he could say simply, “I fill up by my suffering the things that are lacking to the suffering of Christ for His body which is the Church.”
Obviously, from the marvelous message of Mary at Medjugorje, we are encouraged to look ahead. She tells us to pray, pray, pray. She wants us to grow inwardly in the way we pray and in trusting the power of our prayer. And She asks us to find the will of God in our every-day lives. Doing that means that we share with Paul, seeing our difficulties in the light of Christ. We fill up by our suffering the things that are lacking in the suffering of Christ for His body which is the church. We live the days of Lent and Passiontide in our own lives. And we pray for peace in the world and for Christ by His Spirit to lead all souls to Heaven.
What a reason that is to find meaning and value in hardships. To know even in the midst of difficulties that we are not alienated from God, but are much loved by God in the fulfilling of His will.
And what a tremendous reason to claim as our own the Easter song – the Alleluia of the church.

“The Spirit” Moves
In December of 2004, Tim Melody of Las Vegas, NV, offered to publish “The Spirit of Medjugorje” on his website, www.birdsongatmidnight.com. Tim faithfully published the newsletter there until October, 2005, when he and his wife had their fourth baby and the demands of his young family prevented him from keeping up with the newsletter. We thank Tim for all that he has done. Tim said he will leave the December to October issues on his site as well as the Archives. He will also leave the video of the miracle of the sun on his site too. Our new subscribers may want to check out this amazing video, taken by subscriber Gloria Marinelli, at: www.birdsongatmidnight.com/sunvideo.html.
In February we had a number of offers within a two week period to put the newsletter back on the web. Michael K. Jones of www.medjugorjeusa.org was able to procure a very good deal for us to obtain our own website, and he volunteered to be our webmaster. (His conversion story is on p. 4.) Please let others know about the new site, www.spiritofmedjugorje.org, to help spread Our Lady's messages. And don’t worry -we will continue to send the paper copy as long as subscribers continue to renew their subscriptions. Priests and religious will be automatically renewed unless we hear otherwise. Thank you to all who have renewed their subscriptions so far this year. The response has been tremendous!
We have a limited number of January, February and March issues left over that we would like to have distributed. If you would be interested in helping Our Lady by distributing them in your area, send your name and address to June at info@spiritofmedjugorje.org We will send you a package of 25 to distribute. We ask that you request permission from your pastor if you distribute them at your church. Thank you for having responded to Her call
Divine Mercy
Pilgrimage from Medjugorje
By Anita Pehar
One of Medjugorje villages is Surmanci, where an icon of the Divine Mercy is displayed. Every Friday Father John Chisholm leads prayers and devotions before the famous icon of Divine Mercy. This icon is special because a miraculous healing took place to a person who was praying before it. The case was used in the process of beatification and canonization of Saint Faustina. The village is about a 15 min. drive from the center of the village to the east (behind Podbrdo- Apparition Hill).
The program on Friday starts with the Divine Mercy Chaplet chanted by Father John. Then we celebrate Holy Mass and around 3 PM the Way of the Cross is prayed. (It is a 2 hour program.) This summer pilgrims would meet in front of the parish house every Friday at 1 PM and then would take a taxi to go to Surmanci. We had a great time, my group and I, and I wish all pilgrims could have this opportunity to visit Surmanci and pray before the Divine Mercy icon. The chapel also has a small relic of St. Faustina on display.

Forgiveness
By Carolanne Kilichowski
What is forgiveness? The American Heritage College dictionary defines the word-- forgive: 1. to excuse for a fault or an offense 2. To renounce anger or resentment against. 3.-To absolve from payment or debt.
Every day, in prayer I pray with my heart, as Christ has taught us, “Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.” I can remember being a child learning the Our Father and thinking about what this really means, and wondering if my heart could seriously forgive if someone really hurt me deeply. At times, this was not always an easy task. It sometimes takes much patience and prayer to overcome a heart that has been deeply hurt.
My latest test came on December 19, 2005 a few days before Christmas. As I walked out of work and got into my car, about to place the key in the ignition, which would lock my doors the minute that I put the car in reverse, my back door opened. I was startled and looked to see this young man beginning to sit himself in my back seat. I jumped out of my car, not knowing what he was doing, and having a sense of danger as this young man had a very sly smile on his face. I saw that he was grabbing two bags from my back seat, so I realized he was robbing me. I yelled at him to give me back my bags, and asked him what he was doing. He looked surprised that I confronted him. He made some signal, and two very young kids came running to take the bags from him and they handed him a towel. In this towel was a gun which he pointed at my face and told me to “Shut up“…..and called me a nasty name. At this point I looked around to scream but no one was around. Where are people when you need them? I began to shake as I felt my life was in jeopardy. I was never this close to a gun before. If he indeed made any motion to hurt me I would have done what I could to save my life. In my heart I prayed to Our Lady to help me. The gun was to keep me quiet so they could get away. As they ran I took the cell phone out of my pocket to dial the police, but it was not working, as I was shaking, and somehow could not push the right button to make the call. He took the Christmas present I was just given and a bag of prayer books and a rosary with my checkbook and some receipts from bills. My purse was in the front seat and I thank God he did not notice. I was afraid they would run back when they discovered no money in the bag. I got into my car and went back to work to the security people for help. I felt strength from God at this time, a real grace!
I spent the next days praying for all these very young people who are leading a life of crime. I asked God to forgive them and to help them to feel His love. I was very surprised to find people asking me why I am praying for the guys who stole from me. It only made sense to me. The only way I could help them was to pray for them. Will I press charges if they are found? Yes, I will, to stop them from hurting others and hopefully help them to curtail a life of crime. In my heart I have truly forgiven them, as they do not know what they are doing.
A true example, most of us remember, is that of John Paul II. After being shot in the chest by his would- be assassin, he went to visit him in jail to forgive him and pray with him. Often I think what an impact this made on this man. To be truly forgiven by a man he wanted to kill!
I remember reading about the early days of Medjugorje and how Father Jozo challenged the people in church to forgive their brothers and to stand up and say,” I forgive you.” At that time there were many problems between the Croatians and the Serbians. It was heart-warming to know that the parishioners took his words to heart and stood up voicing forgiveness for their brothers and sisters.
In this season of Lent, it is time to examine all of
our hearts.
My prayer for all of you is that when you
pray those words of
forgiveness, your heart will feel free of hard
feelings. My prayer is that your hearts of stone will
change to a heart of flesh. Free yourself of hard
feelings and forgive your transgressors. If you
sincerely have a problem with this, ask God for the
grace of forgiveness. You will find that your heart
will be light and happy when you can give that to God
and feel that your heart has let it go. One practice I
recall from a retreat, was to take a stone and carry it
around for a week, or however long it takes you to let
go. During this time take it with you everywhere,
feeling the weight of the stone and feeling the rough
edges. Imagine how the weight bears down in your own
heart with these feelings of hardness. Imagine the rough
edges being the hard times in your life when you were
hurt by others. Take this stone or rock to church to
pray. Ask God to relieve you of this heavy burden. Go
to confession and talk it over with a priest. The graces
you will receive in confession will help you to overcome
your heavy weight. Don’t be afraid to cry, for tears
are cleansing and healing. Let us all pray for one
another. We all have hurts and times in our lives where
we need to forgive others. Let us throw those stones
away and begin again with a new heart of flesh, filled
with love…one that Jesus would want us to carry.
" Pray that God gives you true peace. Live peace in
your hearts and you will understand, dear children, that
peace is the gift of God. Dear children, without love
you cannot live peace. The fruit of peace is love and
the fruit of love is forgiveness. I am with you and I
invite all of you, little children, that before all else
forgive in the family and then you will be able to
forgive others…” (Our Lady of Medjugorje,
1/25/96)

I Am No Longer the Man I Was
By Michael K. Jones
In 1984 I was in need of a very special blessing, so there I was, an atheist, on his knees praying to the “invisible man.” I quickly realized talking to someone I can’t see, seemed foolish. Somehow I managed to muster up enough courage, talked to the wind and said, “Okay, Jesus, this is Your chance, give me this special blessing and You will have a friend for life.” Much to my surprise and delight, I received the blessing during that prayer. My life completely changed after this! For example, I never prayed, but now I could pray at the drop of a hat. And witness, boy could I witness! I was self employed and every time I worked for a new customer I would witness about my special blessing and confess my love for Jesus. I was born again! My friends all wondered how a confirmed atheist could make a complete turn around. The answer was elementary, like Scrooge in Charles Dickens’s classic, A Christmas Carol, I was no longer the man I was.
From winter of 1984, my nose was constantly inside the Scriptures, and I loved every minute. In spring of ‘89 my life was about to take a greater step beyond anything I could ever imagine. One day while witnessing to a lady, she handed me an envelope saying that inside were clippings of travel agents going to a place where the Virgin Mary is appearing. I had no interest in pilgrimages or the Virgin Mary for that matter, but I smiled and took the envelope. When I got home that night I cleaned my pockets and put the envelope on the bottom shelf of my coffee table and thought no more about it. I never looked inside.
While in prayer some days later, I heard a voice that said, "I want you to go to Medjugorje." At first I ignored the voice but the voice remained insistent. The voice continued over the next few weeks often times waking me in the middle of the night. Upon waking me, the voice would tell me to look at the clock. I found the numbers on the clock to be of equal value, example: 1:11, 2:22, 3:33, and so on. The voice would say, "I want you to go to Medjugorje." Though this is a strange event, even stranger is the fact I had never heard of Medjugorje, I had no clue what it was.
One evening while talking to my sister, I told her about the voice. I tried to pronounce the word Medjugorje but failed. My sister said, “Medjugorje? I’ve heard of it.” It seems her parish priest, Fr. Kelly, was taking a group of people to this little village in a Socialist country, where they say the Virgin is appearing. This was not my idea of a great vacation but I asked my sister to get me an appointment with this priest. I called a week later to find out about the appointment, but her husband told me that Father was a busy man and most likely would not have time to see me.
Hanging up, thinking on all this, I noticed the envelope the lady had given me on the bottom shelf of my coffee table. I had the impression the envelope was jumping at me, which is why it caught my attention. Written on the envelope was the word, “Medjugorje.” This was the first time I had noticed this, and I knew whatever I was looking for was inside.
I quickly pawed through a dozen or so clippings and one caught my eye that said, “Rome and Medjugorje for $1219.00.” I knew instantly I was going on this pilgrimage. As I read on, it said, “Under the direction of Father Arnold E. Kelly, St. Rita’s Church, Lowell, MA.” This was my sister’s parish priest, who lived 100 miles away. Shocked, I called my brother-in-law insisting I meet with Father. After meeting with this delightful priest, I signed up for the 1989 pilgrimage to Medjugorje.
On
the fourth or fifth day of the pilgrimage, I climbed
Mt. Krizevac. I was standing by the right side of
the cross taking pictures of the miracle of the sun.
I turned to a voice that said, "Hello, my name is
Agnes." I said hello and told her I was not trying
to be rude but I had to take pictures of the sun.
Agnes said, "Do not be concerned, God will give you
the pictures He wants you to have." She gave me a
flower and told me God loves me. She said God wanted
me to have the flower. I said thank you. Then she
said, "I have to go now." When I looked for her a
moment later she was gone.
I met Agnes again when we were an hour away from leaving Medjugorje. My roommate was following me around because I tearfully told everyone I didn't want to go home. My roommate, Bill, walked with me to Saint James Parish one last time. While walking back to the house where we were staying, I was again telling Bill I did not want to leave. The tears were swelling up in my eyes again. All of a sudden, Bill said, "Michael, I think someone is calling you." I turned around and there was Agnes. As I walked closer to her she must have seen my sadness. She hugged me, and as she was doing so, whispered in my ear saying, “You have to go home now and spread the message.” My sadness left me, and Agnes walked away with two nuns dressed in habit.
As I reflect on this, I wonder: How can a woman, who briefly touches my life on top of a mountain in a strange land, be able to recognize me from my back side several days later, and then remembers my name, knows what I am feeling, and tells me that I have to go home to spread the message? What are the chances?
I experienced many miracles before, during and after my visit to Medjugorje, far more than I can describe in the space available in “The Spirit of Medjugorje.”
I returned home realizing I no longer believed in God. I had gone a step beyond, I KNOW God exists. I will never doubt in His existence again, no matter what may happen to me for the rest of my life, be it good or bad. Knowing God exists is for me one of the greatest miracles of all.
Today I am Catholic, and the Virgin Mary who I had no interest in, I now call “The Rose of my heart.” I run a Medjugorje website that has some 500 thousand visitors each month from around the world and I am the founder of The POW (Purgatory Oblation Warrior) Apostolate which has over 2000 members worldwide. Later this year my book, Medjugorje Investigated will be available, based on U.S. State Department documents I have requested be declassified. Truly I am not boasting but simply stating that there are no more “Bah Humbugs” Scrooge’s here.
So if you are looking for a best friend, try getting on your knees and praying to the “ invisible Man.” It worked for me. Just maybe you too will find your best friend.
Editor’s note: Michael lives in E. Wareham, MA. This was a condensed version of his testimony. To read the entire story you can visit his website at www.medjugorjeusa.org
Don’t Throw Away Your Lottery Ticket
By June Klins
Suppose someone gave you a lottery ticket in your Easter card, and that it just happened to be a million dollar winner, but you never bothered to check it and threw the ticket in the garbage. That would be pathetic.
Every year we receive an invaluable gift from Jesus and most people choose to throw it away. That is even more pathetic.
The gift which I am referring to is the gift of Divine Mercy Sunday. In the 1930’s Jesus appeared to St. Faustina and said, “My daughter, tell the whole world about My inconceivable mercy. I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. On that day all the divine floodgates through which grace flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet…. It is My desire that it be solemnly celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter. Mankind will not have peace until it turns to the Fount of My Mercy." (Diary of St. Faustina, 699)
On May 5, 2000, Pope John Paul II officially proclaimed the second Sunday of Easter as “Divine Mercy Sunday.”
What there is to lose by not taking advantage of this indulgence is really unfathomable. For those who are hardened sinners, it could be “Paradise Lost.” But for those who have not yet acquired their halos, it is like throwing away their “get out of jail free card.”
In the literature about Purgatory, there are many accounts of souls in Purgatory who have appeared to saints and other pious people begging for prayers because they have been in Purgatory so long, when in earthly time they have really only been there a short time. Our Lady of Medjugorje said, “It does happen that God permits them to manifest themselves in different ways, close to their relatives on earth, in order to remind people of the existence of Purgatory…the majority of people go to Purgatory. Many go to hell. A small number go directly to Heaven.” (1/10/83)
In the book Thirty Days for the Holy Souls, Father Felix, S.J., wrote concerning Purgatory, “We do not measure the duration of time as it passes, but as we feel it pass; and the slowness of its passage increases in proportion to the pains we suffer. For the souls in Purgatory, minutes are long days, days are long years, and years are ages that seem unending. A religious, after his death, appeared to one of his brethren and revealed to him that 3 days passed in Purgatory seemed to him longer than 3,000 years!“ This is not inconsistent with the words of scripture: “But do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years…” (2Peter 3:8) Think of how time drags when you are sick, in pain or bored. And yet how time flies when you are having a good time or are at peace. “…and a thousand years like one day,” (2Peter 3:8) - how Heaven will probably seem.
I, for one, plan to take advantage of the offer Jesus gives us on Divine Mercy Sunday. I know I am not among the few who will make it directly to Heaven. So I want to reduce my Purgatory time as much as possible. I don’t even want to go there for one hour, since one hour could seem like over 40 years. I have read in several books that souls have revealed that the average stay in Purgatory is 30 to 40 years. If you do the math, 30 years would seem like 10,950,000 years, not even counting leap years. We need not compute what 40 would be. The point is made.
If you would like to invite a friend or family member to take advantage of this awesome gift from Heaven, we have available a free Divine Mercy card which you can print out, fold and give to someone. We thank Father William A. Rice, of Fryburg, PA, who designed the card for us, which is available on our website www.spiritofmedjugorje.org.
"Souls who spread the honor of My Mercy I shield through their entire life as a tender mother her infant, and at the hour of death I will not be a Judge for them, but the Merciful Savior." (Jesus to St. Faustina, Diary, 1075)

Mirjana’s Talk March 18, 1993
I would like to talk to you about my mission, the mission Our Lady gave to me.
That is an invitation, the call, to pray for unbelievers. Contrary to other visionaries, I found myself, and I was born in a place where there was mostly nonbelievers. That means, Communism, and that was my city, Sarajevo. My parents had to really struggle and persevere in teaching us children so that we could guard the prayer in the family.
I was always happy when I could go to Medjugorje to my grandmother and grandfather. There were all Catholics. They were free there to go to church and to pray to God. Everyone was doing that in Medjugorje. And so in summer of 1981 I found myself also in Medjugorje. I can tell you, first of all, that in the midst of the city, I did not have a chance to hear about Lourdes or of Fatima. In the house, my parents did not have a chance to talk about that either. They were afraid if they said something, we children could take it to school and it would reflect negatively on the parents. Also I did not hear Lourdes and Fatima from other sources and we did not have enough money to visit these places. I wanted to say that just to explain why I did not even glance at the hillside when Ivanka told me the Gospa was there. For me it seemed to be impossible. I thought She was in Heaven and that we pray to Her.
However, everything changed. She was with us. When I saw Her, I was shocked. To me it was beautiful, in Our Mother’s face I saw Heaven. I understood then what it meant to have Her as a Mother. For one year of apparitions, Our Lady conveyed to me everything She wanted me to know. And then there were ten secret messages. But for those I still have to wait to reveal them. I will reveal them through Father Petar. And so the daily apparitions ceased for me after a year. But since 1982, Our Lady appeared to me every 18th of March. But something changed later. Five years ago she began to appear to me every second of the month. But these meetings were not the same as those daily ones. For these apparitions, I never know when they will happen, and what time of day, or how long they will last. These apparitions are for nonbelievers. Mother Mary never called them nonbelievers. She always said about them that they are those children who have not understood and experienced the love of God as yet. And She explicitly emphasizes this still. I don’t think it was coincidence that Our Lady chose me to convey the message for unbelievers. I think it is because of where I was born and where I was raised. So I know how these people who do not recognize God - I know how they think and feel. And I suffered because of them. I always experience pain because they were not able to open their hearts for Our Mother and to see Her love for them in their lives. They seem to be searching for something all the time. They do not realize that they are searching for Her. They are searching for Mother who is going to give them unconditional love – the Mother with whom they could feel contentment, love and assurance and never feel alone. She is always with us. All we must do is open our hearts and She is with us. I wanted to convey this to the unbelievers but I did not find the right words. I did not want to instigate the opposite reaction. Then it all took place when Our Lady started to appear to me five years ago. She told me we can change them. When I say we, I don’t mean only Our Lady and I. And I don’t mean only us visionaries. But I think of all of those who feel and know Our Lady as a Mother. Our Lady said that we can change all of those who do not believe with our prayers and our example. And this is the most powerful. Our prayer which we pray with open hearts, the hearts that are filled with love for our brothers and sisters. Those that are not fortunate to know the love of God. Mary says,” Help me to pray for those who do not believe and I will pray for you to My Son.” If we could only once see the tears on Her face, the tears that She sheds for nonbelievers. I think you would pray every day with your whole heart for nonbelievers. Our Mother said when we pray for nonbelievers, then we pray for our future as well. Because if there would not be those who do not believe, then there would not be wars, there would not be divorces, there would not be suicides, drugs and abortion. Those things are committed by nonbelievers. Those who have empty hearts and those who need our unselfish help, they do not need our preaching. This we will leave to the priest. But they need our example. So we have a great mission. We have to live life to witness. What does it mean to have God as a Father and what does it mean to have Mary as our Mother? It is not always easy and it is a grave responsibility. And that is the reason why you always have to begin the day with a prayer to our Mother. So that She will be with us all day and we can accomplish this prayer only with Her help. I would like to invite all of you with my heart to help our Mother. Because if we help our Mother we help ourselves as well. We help our children also. So let us try with the help of our Mother to leave a better world for our children - the world without nonbelievers. Let us create with our hearts the world so that there would not be unbelievers, where all the people would be brothers without hate. The world is the children of God. I beseech you, and in the name of our Heavenly Mother, to pray for those who do not recognize the love of God yet. Let us pray for them and let us give them the right example. It depends on us and our Mother is here to help us.
By the way, today is Mirjana’s birthday. Our Lady never said she would appear to Mirjana on her birthday. She said she would appear to her every year on the 18th of March. Our Lady never told her Happy Birthday either. On the last birthday last year, Our Lady gave Mirjana a message to convey to all of you also. She said, “Dear children, give me your hand so I can guide you like a Mother on the right path. In this way, I can bring you to your Father. Open your heart and let me enter. Pray, because when you pray I am with you in prayer. Pray that I may be able to guide you. I can bring you to peace and happiness. Thank you for having responding to my call.”

Mirjana’a Message March 18, 2006
This year
several thousand pilgrims gathered to pray the Rosary at the
Cenacolo Community in Medjugorje. The apparition lasted from
1:59 PM to 2:04 PM and Our Lady gave the following message:
"Dear children! In this Lenten time, I call you to interior
renunciation. The way to this leads you through love, fasting,
prayer and good works. Only with total interior renunciation
will you recognize God's love and the signs of the time in which
you live. You will be witnesses of these signs and will begin to
speak about them. I desire to
bring you to this. Thank you for having responded to me."
Our Lady Led Me To Her Son’s Mercy
By Charles Samuel
I offer my story as a means of encouragement to persevere in prayer, especially when praying for your kids. Presently, I am a senior in high-school and firmly believe that it was Mary who was saving me for Jesus these past 9 years.
My mom
and dad were really the most instrumental in helping me begin my
conversion to Christ. I was resilient for eight years, but they
persevered. My mother always prayed for me every day and urged
me to pray to the Holy Spirit, but usually I would just, in my
resentment, ignore her. My father always printed out the monthly
message from Medjugorje, but I was too busy playing video games,
or reading any number of occult books, to care. I gradually
developed a dangerous attachment to magic, and dragons. I
started receiving bombardments of negative interior voices when
I was 12 years old. However, it took me 4 years to notice the
problem, because I thought they were part of my own thoughts and
believed there was nothing I could do about them. There was much
turmoil in my heart, so I turned to video games, New Age
practices (yoga) to find peace. Once I made a failed attempt to
pray the Rosary, which did not work because of my ignorance of
its power, and spiritual sloth. I prayed, yet was met with such
opposition, that I did not think my prayers to be of much
effect. I became depressed, started contemplating suicide, and
became careless with my actions, forming harmful friendships. I
lost the ability to govern my tongue as well, yet despite this,
I went to church on Sundays and received, very wrongfully, Our
Lord Jesus in the Eucharist.
This all reached its climax when my relationship with a girlfriend was abruptly broken off. I planned my death in numerous ways, yet was met up with an awesome spiritual resistance. It felt like Our Lady and Her legion of angels were holding me back from jumping over a banister to my possible death below. Mary was saving me for Her Son Jesus. God, in His infinite love and mercy, had put His grip around me to begin drawing me back to Him. Through the tears and breakdowns I was finally convinced that I had to go to Confession at a Franciscan University Youth Conference (Steubenville East).
Upon returning home I sought out help with my interior voices at a deliverance ministry in my parish. It took 5 months for the oppressive yoke to be lifted. For 2 months I have been praying the Rosary nearly everyday, and have been going to weekly Confession. I still have some interior voices and minor scruples, but I have attained more peace than I could have thought possible. Everyday is a struggle, yet I'm improving thanks to support from family, friends, and especially Jesus and Mary. Please continue to pray for me.
“I wish especially to say to the young people: be open to the Holy Spirit because God wishes to draw you to Himself in these days when Satan is at work.” (Our Lady of Medjugorje, 5/16/85)
Editor’s note: Charles is from Eastern USA. I recently heard of a girl in my city who had the same experience. We need to pray much for our youth as Our Lady has told the visionaries many times.
Special thanks to Bernard Gallagher and Tom Klins for their photos in this issue Thank you also to all those who renewed in the last few months.
